The Ministry of Finance and Economy in collaboration with the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment of the Republic of Singapore and the Singapore Food Agency, SFA, will undertake a joint feasibility study on the establishment of a Brunei–Singapore Agri-Tech Food Zone, ATFZ.
The ATFZ is also envisioned as a strategic expansion of the multiple Memorandum of Understanding between both countries. The ATFZ among others aims to enhance food supply resilience; facilitate high-value agri-food investments; and position Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Singapore as regional leaders in sustainable, and technology-driven agri-food production.
The ATFZ is expected to support the development of a competitive agri-food ecosystem that will enable the production, processing, and export of high-quality food products to regional and global markets. The joint study will be carried out with the involvement of key stakeholders including the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism; Brunei Economic Development Board and Brunei Darussalam Food Authority. The initiative reflects the continued commitment of both countries to deepen cooperation and strengthen bilateral partnership.
